ABOUT THE PROJECT
Duration: 2 Months / 8 weeks
Role: UX Designer: Research & Visual Designer
Axyon Cinema is a fictional brand designed as the ultimate destination for young movie enthusiasts and casual viewers, offering an unmatched cinematic experience. With a focus on showcasing the latest and most talked-about films as soon as they hit theaters, Axyon creates a space where movie lovers can immerse themselves in their passion. Its trendy ambiance, cutting-edge technology, and comfortable seating provide the perfect environment for friends to come together and enjoy unforgettable movie nights.
As part of my Google Career Certificate program, I led the development of this project from start to finish. This included conducting interviews, usability studies, and competitive audits to ensure that the final design addressed user needs and motivations while delivering a seamless and engaging experience.
Over the course of 8 weeks, I designed the end-to-end user experience for this project, paying close attention to every detail to optimize usability and enhance the overall customer journey.
THE PROBLEM
Users can’t order food & beverages with their tickets booking, they also find it difficult to understand the difference between the different versions & experiences
OUR GOAL
Design a smooth booking flow for Axyon considering food & beverages as well as clarifications on the experience and versions.
USER RESEARCH SUMMARY
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m
designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research
was young working adults and movie nerds who enjoy watching a movie with friends and family.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about Axyon users, but research
also revealed that users would appreciate to pre-order their food & beverages online to avoid queuing.
USER PAIN POINTS
01 - Queuing
People wants to avoid queuing, they prefer to purchase everything in advance to avoid the wait.
02 - Confusion
Most users often don’t understand the difference between the versions when purchasing a movie ticket.
03 - Miss out on trends
Movie nerds are often afraid to miss out on the trends, or miss out a new movie going out.

BRANDING
I was responsible for developing the comprehensive branding of Axyon, which encompassed the logo, color scheme, and typography.
MOBILE VERSION
Designing the mobile version of Axyon Cinema involved creating a seamless, user-friendly experience tailored to on-the-go users. I prioritized responsive layouts, intuitive navigation, and quick access to key features such as movie showtimes, ticket booking, and trailers. Through wireframing and prototyping, I ensured that the design adapted effortlessly to various screen sizes while maintaining visual consistency with the desktop version. Usability testing was a critical step in refining the mobile interface, helping me address pain points and optimize the design for a smooth, enjoyable browsing experience on smaller devices.
